Today’s lesson – “to be” – present tense.
En presente, el verbo “to be” tiene tres formas diferentes, según el sujeto de la frase.
Estas son las diferentes formas de “to be” en presente:
- I am
- You are
- He/She/It is
- We are
- They are
La forma “am” se utiliza con el sujeto de primera persona del singular “I”. Por ejemplo:
- I am a player.
- I am funny.
- I am feeling well.
La forma “are” se utiliza con los sujetos de segunda persona del singular y del plural “you” y “you all”. Por ejemplo:
- You are my sister.
- You are studying not hard.
- Are you hungry?
La forma “is” se utiliza con los sujetos de tercera persona del singular “he”, “she” y “it”. Por ejemplo:
- He is a student.
- She is playing the violin.
- It is sunny outside.
La forma “are” también se utiliza con el sujeto de primera persona del plural “we” y con el sujeto de tercera persona del plural “they”. Por ejemplo:
- We are going to the theater.
- They are my parents.
- We are not sure yet.
